Novi Sad will be European Capital of Culture in 2021 and there is a reason for sure. Svetlana Horvat, the President of Serbia Fashion Week, worked hard with an international team to arrive at this important moment. The Creative Director of Serbia Fashion Week is an elegant man with a big heart, a french one, very well known in Haute Couture fashion industry: Eymeric Francois. He got ”Legends” on the catwalk of Serbia Fashion Week and his Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection was, as to be expected, full of elegance and mistery. It was feminine and floaty, making all the models look like real legends who’d descended to Earth for the day. The collection was filled with long gowns embellished with delicate fabrics, apart from a select few elegant items which were embellished with crystals.
The floor-length gowns have a certain elegance, seemingly embellished with fine crystals. The placing of them is delicate and artful, extending from the neckline to beyond the hips, creating an interesting shape. The looks move easily, billowing around the models as they walked down the runway, making their look celestial.
The wearer looks powerful and dominant due to the definitive structure of the dress, but at the same time, the light fabric and intricate pattern is also feminine. The full-sleeves are balanced in all the looks and the long skirts trail down on either side of the dress. The colours suit a plethora of women and is easily translatable to day or night (although the event would have to be a ball either way).
