Between the 7th and the 13th of November, Novi Sad, the next European Capital of Culture in 2021, hosted Serbia Fashion Week directed by Svetlana Horvat .
Branko Popović, one of the most creative human beings in fashion industry at 360°, was born in Serbia and I think his SS17 Menswear Collection was a warning sign for everybody including emerging designers, fashion press and buyers. Branko is the co-founder of Fashionclash, the interdisciplinary festival and designer platform in Maastricht every July, and at Serbia Fashion Week we had the opportunity to see him like menswear designer, a very talented one! Branko Popović’s Menswear Collection brought doses of black and white for the Spring Summer 2017 season, hooking up with an unusual electricity. Silhouettes pinged between supersize bombers and trenchcoats sliding off the shoulders to tiny leather pants and hunch-shouldered jackets. Branko’s list of garments included also the classic black shirts under tailored jackets and coats. This collection is a warning light for the new brands in fashion industry and we love it!
